OS-ES (Ordinary Spot – Extraordinary Shot)
OS-ES stands for Ordinary Spot Extraordinary Shot. Most of the pictures that you see are taken in an ordinary spot, but turn out to be extraordinary shot. This is what makes an ordinary photographer into an extraordinary and makes you stand out from the crowd. When you are taking pictures, you need to look at the environment from a different perspective. Dough Phan has some amazing extraordinary shots. If you would look closer, there’s nothing super crazy about them. All he does is uses the right angle and lighting. It’s all about the angle and the lighting!

As you can see on the picture above, there’s nothing extraordinary there. All I have done in the photo above is came closer and zoomed in on the part that I want to be in focus and then I took the photo into Photoshop and made it black and white and added a few other color corrections.

In this one, I took the same concept. I’ve asked her to turn around and took a closer shot of her crocs and only had the focus on them and a few other details in the shot. Don’t be scared to experiment and take some ordinary shots with extraordinary approach.

This one is my favourite because I took pretty much the same shot, but a little later in the day. I also took a photo of a milky way and I’ve blended it with the temple photo. It created amazing shot. I’ve even had a few people come up to me to ask if I actually took that shot in front of the temple. That’s how you can sometimes trick some people by the skills you gain. Go ahead and create your OS-ES shots. Make it look extraordinary and you will win other’s hearts.
